Meredith Rahr (b. 2002, Sayre PA)  is a contemporary artist whose work explores the intersection of identity, experience, and connection. Raised in Horseheads, New York, Meredith earned a BFA in painting from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in several group exhibitions and has garnered recognition for its unique approach as she developed a new artistic process that combines traditional and contemporary techniques. From using UV paint to break down the barriers between the viewer and the artwork, to experimenting with various perspectives and textures, her work consistently pushes the boundaries of artistic expression. The result is a captivating fusion of imagination and thought-provoking concepts that encourage intimacy and self-reflection, both for her and for the viewer.

A key theme in her work is the exploration of vulnerability. By peeling away the intricate layers of her own identity and experiences - and the fluidity that exists within them-  she can begin to understand what exactly drove the need to bring those images to life. Through her work, she aims to evoke emotion, spark dialogue, and prompt herself and others to reflect on their beliefs and perspectives while entangled in the beliefs and perspectives of another. With UV painting as a medium for connection and introspection, she draws inspiration from personal experience, cultural influence, and the nuances of being a queer woman in everyday life.

She currently lives and works in Buffalo, NY
